In normal circumstances out-side in the elements a plant may be 3 or 4 months old before it flowers, however under artificial conditions in an indoor situation this process made can be much faster. A seedling grown in good conditions under HPS lamps can be forced to flower, (or may do it voluntarily) at between 5-6 weeks, even earlier for some varieties. Basically if a seedling is big enough to be cloned, (has 5 or 6 sets of leaves and has branches) it should be old enough to show sex, and can be switched to 12 hour light/ 12 hour dark to induce flowering.
