If seeds are to be stored for a long time, (it is possible to still germinate seed after 10 years or more!) they should be stored, vacuum-sealed with a desiccant in a cool dark place. For short term storage, (up to 2 or 3 years) in a sealed plastic bag or container in a cool dark place is ok. Adding a desiccant or a few grains of rice helps to absorb any moisture. Using a fridge is ok prior to planting but long-term it's not so good as a fridge has a lot of moisture that is constantly condensing which can harm the seed.
